Best of Gotland!

Today, after a modest run along the coast, Vanessa and I went to Visby for some sightseeing.  We met with Vendela for lunch at La Fontana and I successfully ordered (Jag skulle vilja ha...) a delicious plate of kötbullar (Swedish meatballs) served with potatismos (mashed potatoes) and lingonberries.  The waiter said he understood perfectly and was impressed. I told him I had good teachers :)

I have had pickled veggies of some sort at every meal as well.  I've yet to have tried pickled fish (which I am thankful for).

My teachers also taught me how to introduce myself (Jag heter Teni or Mitt namn är Teni), and showed me around the shops and restaurants inside the ringmuren (or city wall).  We saw the library and I found some of the English books that I can set up a free library card account to borrow.

I made my first purchase (already).  It's a great pair of running tights that are navy blue with yellow accents and say "Sverige 16"  (I needed something to wear for the Euro cup games).  Fortunately the prices around here are a lot more reasonable than I was expecting.

I wore them tonight to my first P18 game.  I haven't practiced with the team yet, so I just watched.  I was excited for the team to post a 4-1 win over our rival team to win the district championship!  Best of Gotland!  Woohoo!  I'm so looking forward to playing with them this Saturday on the main land.

I'm doing better at keeping up with this blog nonsense than I thought I would.  I'm happy.  I'm sure that I will post less and less once things aren't as new every day.

But for now, you'll get a good account of how the days are going.  More later.

Hej då.
