I have (for the most part) over come jet lag.
Unfortunately being mostly on an ordinary sleeping schedule doesn't necessarily mean you have adequate energy levels to keep up with a group 9 y/o boys. Vendela had school and Vanessa needed to head to Stockholm for a quick visit to the U.S. Embassy, so Boston showed me around the park.
Kneippbyn is the only amusement park on Gotland, and was started by the Werkelin grandparents. It has grown into a fun summer destination for locals and tourists alike. The water park area is pirate themed, and we (Boston, I and one of his school friends) spent a happy time playing tag in the pool around some of the pirate ships. My definition of "hot" water is quite different from the Swedes apparently, and I was shivering the whole time.
After we played for a long time I was very ready for lunch so we wandered back up to the house for a quick meal. That was followed by some other rides on the dry side of the park, including a visit to Pippi Longstocking's (Pippi Långstrump) house Villa Villekulla.
About 3pm I was zonked and had to head back to the house for a short break before Vendela and I went to our captain, Ejla's, house to watch Sweden get extremely lucky against Ireland in the group stages of the Euro 2016 Cup. I met two additional teammates and we had a great time blowing bubbles and playing on the playground after the match.
It was a packed but fun day. I'm definitely ready for sleep.
